Pain Management Techniques Masterclass with Steve Burgess

This course has been created to give Hypnotherapists a range of techniques to help clients to overcome chronic pain, to achieve analgesia prior to surgery, and to use the power of the mind to help with illness. 

The first day of the course is based on the procedures pioneered by the eminent Spanish surgeon Dr. Angel Escudero, who has performed several thousand surgical operations WITHOUT anaesthetic. Hypnoesitherapy is a unique pain control method which regularly produces outstanding (and sometimes miraculous results). Approximately 80% of people who are treated in this way are able to maintain their pain-free state as long as is required. Dr. Escudero’s work has been featured on many television programmes (including BBC TV’s ‘Your Life In Their Hands’) and although he does not overtly use hypnosis it has been found that applying hypnotic trance (in an unusual, non-traditional way) to his methods increases the potency and speed of the therapy.                                                                                                                                              

Course Facilitator Steve Burgess has been using Hypnoesitherapy for a number of years with a high degree of success in treating painful conditions, including as part of a major operation without any anaesthetic at Hull Royal Infirmary – a process which the surgeon carrying out the operation described as “astonishing”. He has used the technique with many clients suffering from chronic pain most of whom have been able to resume a normal life after living with pain for many years.                                                                                                                                            

OTHER APPLICATIONS

Hypnoesitherapy can also be used to treat a range of clinical conditions (including stroke, arthritis and headaches) and is beneficial when working with stress management, childbirth and anxiety states. It is a wonderful example of the positive power of the mind and empowers clients to take more control of situations and issues for themselves. As well as this, it can be used alongside traditional hypnotic visualisations to assist in the healing of problems and illnesses.   

 The second day of the course will teach two outstanding methods to achieve a pain-free state, Glove Anaesthesia and Autogenics. Glove Anaesthesia is a traditional hypnotherapy technique, in which a hand is anaesthetised and then transferred to any part of the body suffering from pain. Autogenics is a wonderful, simple system of relaxing the body using the mind which is very effective in treating high blood pressure, pain, anxiety and migraines. We then go on to look at a host of visualisation scripts which can be used with a variety of illnesses, including cancer.
